A System for Policy
The Students' Union is looking at the ways in which you as a student can directly input your ideas into us, and how more decisions can be made by the student body as a whole.
Our aim is to have a system which is focused on you as an individual student: one which is built to be as simple and straightforward at the points where you are involved, even if behind the scenes it is more complicated. Based on initial feedback from students, we plan to deliver this mostly online, so you can engage with it at any time.
In the spirit of the above, below is a document outlining some suggestions for how this might work and what this might look like, although there are still many things that haven't been thought about, and your feedback on all aspects of the suggestions will be very helpful in building a final proposal. Please can you take the time to have a look at it and leave your thoughts in the forum threads below. We are especially keen to hear what you think about the parts where the most students will be involved: submitting ideas, debating online and voting.
