Back to competition! BUCS Outdoors 2021

After not being able to shoot for the bulk of the academic year, we ended it on a high: a record twelve University of Bath archers made their way to Lilleshall for the outdoor BUCS championships on 12th-13th June.

It was a weekend of perfect summer, catching up with old and new faces from unis across the country, ice cream (thanks Nik!) and of course competing.

Special mention must go to our novices, who had their start to archery interrupted but came back, stuck with it, and came home with a team bronze on top of two individual third place finishes in the Men’s Novice Recurve and Men’s Novice Barebow!

Our experienced non-compound team finished in 6th place and with a Bath uni archer in 7th place in almost all categories we entered – Women’s Experienced Barebow, Women’s Experienced Recurve, Men’s Experienced Barebow, Men’s Novice Barebow – it’s fair to say that we’ll do our best to be back for more shiny stuff.

WA900 results can be found here, H2H results can be found here, and combined results are here (individual) and here (team).

Thank you to BUCS and UKSAA for making this event possible and Covid-secure and of course a massive well done to everyone – here’s to the new year :)
