Front of House Team Opportunities
We have three roles students can get involved with to be part of our student-led Front of House team (FOH) to support and manage shows and events at the Edge. These are paid roles, for which training is provided, and which are excellent ways to grow your skills and employment experiences, as well as making a bit of money!
Please note applications have now closed for Semester 1. Another round of recruitment will run in December.
Duty Managers - Duty Managers lead the team for each event and oversee the smooth running of events. This includes getting the space ready, coordinating ushers, liaising with the event producers and technicians, and being the port of call for resolving problems and answering questions on the event. We look for individuals who are friendly, engaged, organised, and adaptable.
Ushers - Ushers help out at events with tasks like setup and tidy, ticket taking, and directing audiences. They need to be able to present a friendly face to audiences and cast alike.
Casual Technician Team
Our technical team is made up of casual staff and provides key support to the various events in the Edge including theatre shows, small arts and music events, film screenings, talks, and other venue support. They help to set up and run lighting, sound, set and other AV elements and work closely with the event organisers to help create a great event which runs smoothly.
Every event is different, so we look for individuals who are friendly, engaged, adaptable and good at problem-solving. While technical experience is preferable, we do provide full training for the role.
