6 Months in as Activities Officer

We are a semester in, we’ve had Christmas Break, New Years has happened and we are basically into February! Well, where did all of that time go? Six months have passed since I started as Activities Officer and I am thoroughly enjoying every moment of it!

So, I guess you're all wondering what I’ve been up to in the past six months?

I have to mention Freshers’ Week, and how excited I was to see all the new students starting here at Bath. They have no idea just how much they’re going to love it here! Introducing them to the Societies that we have to offer here in Bath was such a lovely experience to have and I hope you have all been able to find something that you enjoy to take part in away from your degrees! If not, just come and find me, and I am happy to help you find something you will enjoy!

We have had the very First Societies General Meeting of the 17/18 Academic year, which was very exciting, and I have changed the structure of these sessions to be more about YOU. They now allow for more discussion based topics rather than being similar to another lecture.

Masquerade Ball was also a great success and sold out for the first time ever! I was very proud to see you all in the Guildhall dressed up with your beautiful masks!

I have started Kim’s Wins of the Week which will help you all keep up to date with what I’ve been working on and what success stories I have to tell you, here are a few of my favourites: (Check the rest of my wins here)

Refresh Week is right around the corner and there will be stalls on Tuesday and Thursday downstairs in the SU for you to see what we can offer to you. So make sure you check it out as its NEVER too late to TRY SOMETHING NEW!

New Year's Resolutions!

- To not use a single coffee cup and use my reusable one every time! (Straws too). I have gone 26 days without using one single coffee cup, so going strong so far!

- Go to the gym at least twice a week

- To see a show a month in London, for those interested this months show is Les Miserables and I am VERY excited!

- Save at least £2k this year

- Learn a new language, I’ve gone with Spanish!

- Consistently use my bullet journal, this months theme on my bullet journal is Disney!

Future Thoughts:

There are a lot of events on the horizon!, There’s Officer Elections, Committee Elections, Be Green Week, Introducing the Societies Area to our new Activities Administrator and Activities Awards! So there is plenty for me to get on with, and I look forward to seeing you all when you get back after ISB for a fun Semester 2 ahead of us!

That's all from me. If you want to get in touch with me then you can always email me on suactivities@bath.ac.uk
