Labour Students

Bath University Labour Club is a member of Labour Students, the student's wing of the national Labour Party. Labour Students in the largest student-led political movement in the UK.

Your membership of BULC allows you to be part of a truly national movement - campaigning alongside and socialising with fellow student activist from across the country. Labour Students host numerous national and regional events over the year these are great opportunities to meet new people and learn new skills.

Participation in Labour Students as a club, allows us to make sure our members gain the most from their membership and we can make the biggest difference when campaigning for a nationwide Labour victory.

Labour Students' Clubs up and down the country run a nationwide priority campaign on campuses across the country campaigning for a better deal for students. Last year's priority campaign was ‘Somewhere to Call Home’, a campaign to push for student-run letting agents that are run on your campuses and for a new National Student Housing Strategy. In the past, Labour Students have run successful campaigns on student voter registration and on ensuring a Living Wage for workers.

Labour Students offers additional opportunities BAME, Disabled, LGBT+ and Women students with dynamic national liberation campaigns headed by national officers. These liberation caucuses are at the heart of everything Labour Students does, with caucus meetings at every national event and their own dedicated Liberation Conference each year.

Labour Students also works in Students’ Unions and in the National Union of Students (NUS) to further progressive values in the student movement. Labour Students stand candidates for election in the NUS and support our members who are elected student officers around the country.
