Manifesto
Going to university can be overwhelming, especially for Freshers and International students. However, the Students’ Union helps you meet new people, try new activities, and facilitates individual development. I have had so many positive experiences here at Bath and I want to be your Activities Officer to ensure that you can say the same.
During my time at university, I have had vast experience in roles across the SU which have helped me develop extensive skills working with staff and students. These roles have included positions such as;
- Societies Executive as Arts Representative
- I’ve founded and am the Chair of a Newly Affiliated Society
- I've been Head of Live Events for Campus TV
- I’ve been Faculty Rep of Humanities and Social Sciences
These experiences are invaluable to an officer who wants to make meaningful differences.
Your experience at university extends beyond lectures and seminars; It’s also about getting involved with activities, and I will help you find something to enjoy within this vast area.
As your Activities Officer, I WILL:
Societies
- Restructure the Tiers System by working with Activities Office staff to provide a better layout
- Continue to build a stronger relationship with The Edge to further facilitate efficient use of the space
- Create a calendar on BathStudent so that you know where and when societies are putting on events
Joining Societies
- Make Refresh Week as big as possible! Having helped the Activities Officer promote Refresh Week this year, I look to enhance the layout of Refresh Week and make it less daunting to join a society, even mid-way through the year
- Promote society taster sessions by improving their timetabling and publicity
Inclusivity
- Work with the Faith and Cultural Rep to develop inclusivity for all activities on campus
Food Waste
- Continue the work on food waste and create a food waste policy to ensure sustainability for the future
Drop-in/Advice Sessions
- Work with the other officers to provide you with themed fortnightly drop-in sessions. Students would email suggestions for the agendas, allowing us to efficiently answer the questions that are important to you
Training and Developing Job Prospects
- Make relevant jobs easier to find on Joblink
- Promote the Bath Award and make it an easier process
- Create a more convenient timetable for Skills Training, encourage more students to become trainers, and increase awareness of the programme
- Make students more aware of the training resources available on Moodle
- Provide the necessary training for new committee members by developing and overseeing a new process for handovers
WHY VOTE FOR ME?
I want your experience here at Bath to be one you’ll never forget, just like mine! I never expected all of the incredible opportunities that the SU has provided me, and I want to help improve the SU and build on its strengths so future students will have an even better experience.
Small Person, Big Responsibility. Kim2Win for Activities!
