Open to PGR students who would like to learn how to engage older people with research. You’ll be given the challenge of devising and delivering a short (5 – 10 minute) presentation about your research, about why it matters and its (potential) impact, to a group of older people. Instead, you’ll need to choose an object either associated with, or that encapsulates, your research and present this as a ‘hook’ for your talk.

You’ll present your object and research to the Age UK BANES Culture Club [comprised of ages 55 years and over] at St John’s Hospital Meeting Room. V Team Student Volunteering will be coordinating this event in conjunction with the Students' Union Postgraduate Coordinator.

Once the Postgraduate Researchers have been recruited you will be expected to attend a practice session [late November/early December] to take it in turns to share with each other the object chosen and to have a go at presenting to each other so you can iron out any problems. The Postgraduate Coordinator and the Volunteer Support Coordinator will also be in attendance to give positive and, hopefully, useful feedback.

Save the date and watch this space as the sign up will be available here very soon.
