Casual Chess \;

Ar e you a chess fanatic or want to learn how to play Chess. Either way\, Ca sual Chess is open to all Freshers’\, \;regardless of skill and exper ience levels! The event will be hosted by \;the Chess Society (ChessS oc)\, as they \;provide \;a fantastic\, welcoming chess-playing e nvironment where they will kindly be providing \;chess sets\, as well as clocks for those who want \;a more competitive spin\, so just tur n up and play anytime during the event's duration. In addition to regular chess\, there will also be chess variants such as Bughouse \;as well as \;Hand &\; Brain \;for those \;wanting a \;more ad venturous \;style of \;Chess \;playing. The event will allow those involved to chill and relax whilst playing an interesting game\, in a nice outdoor environment whilst making new friends in the process.&nbs p\; \;

This event is open to ALL \;freshers \;and you d o not need a ticket to attend! However\, you will \;be required \ ;to check in upon arrival so please bring your student card with you.&nbs p\; \;

Accessibility Information - What can I expect from t his event? \;

This event will take place on The Chanc ellors Green. The event will be calmer event so noise levels are estimate d to be lower. This is due to \;expected lower capacities of Freshers ’ attending as well as the \;nature of the \;activity being one i n which has a calm and relaxing manner. Wheelchair access is easy due to the location being outside and easily \;accessible \;along the re gular paths across the University Campus. \; \;

If forecast ed weather is poor\, there are plans to move the event elsewhere. If this  \;can’t \;happen\, \;the event may be postponed or cancelled . No prior experience is \;required. \; \;
