What are Departmental Mixers?

A Departmental Mixer is an amazing opportunity to meet n ew students in your faculty and specifically in your course of study. Thi s is a fantastic event in your first few days here at this remarkable uni versity to meet your people from your course\, so you can spend Freshers& rsquo\; Week and beyond with them\, building strong friendships and findi ng that sense of community within your study. You can drop in and out of this event as much as you like within the time advertised so please get i nvolved whether that'\;s for 1 minute or 1 hour. Peer mentors\, Academ ic Reps\, SU Staff\, SU Officers and Societies will be there supporting t he event and supporting your experience. \;

This Mixer is for students within the Social and Policy Sciences Faculty\, and the c ourses on this Mixer include:

We highly reco mmend this event to new students as we believe this sets a fantastic stan dard into what your university journey has in store. We will have icebrea ker activities so you can get involved in those as well. If at any point you need a moment away from the event\, we have a designated Mixer Rest S pace where you can sit down and take a breath. We look forward to introdu cing you to your people. \;

This event is open to Under graduate Students Only and for people specifically of the courses above. You do not need a ticket to attend\, just show up at any point d uring the advertised times\, when you can and when you like! However\, yo u will be required to check in upon arrival so please bring your student card with you.

Accessibility Information - What can I expect from this event?

This ev ent will take place in the Tub. Due to the number of courses present at t he event with the Tub space\, we expect the event to feel busy and crowde d and will have high levels of noise. This is due to capacity of people w ithin the facility. As mentioned\, we have a designated Mixer Rest Space located outside of the SU if anyone requires it and you can pop in and ou t as much as you like. \;

The Tub has full wheelchair access wi th a lift leading to the Tub. Any questions\, queries or concerns you may have before\, during or after the event\, our Freshers&rsquo\; Week Capt ains and different members of staff are there to help. \;
