Whether you're an experienced athlete or just looking to have some fun and try something new, there's something for everyone. This event is open to ALL freshers and you do not need a ticket to attend! However, you will be required to check in upon arrival so please bring your student card with you.

Accessibility Information - What can I expect from this event?

This event will take place in a large sports hall. The event will be busy and crowded and will have loud music playing. Student groups will have stalls showcasing their sports club. Students can choose how much they want to interact with the stalls. There may be opportunities to trial some sporting activity should you wish. There will be no food or drink at this event. Please expect some queuing on entry to the event.

We will be opening the event as a priority at 11:00 - 11:30 to those with accessibility needs through an accessible entrance. You will need to sign up in advance to attend during this time and we will be restricting numbers to ensure the event remains accessible for that period. Please arrive at 11:00. Tickets will go online from Wednesday 2 September from 09:00 from this page. Your ticket will be sent to you via email as a QR Code. Please make sure you have this ready and available with you upon entry to the event.

Freshers' Fair

Fill up on Domino's pizza and collect as many freebies as you can at our Freshers' Fair. With local and national companies all there to give you discounts, opportunities and freebies, why not come along and make the most of our Freshers' Fair!

This event is free to attend and open to all students - just turn up - you do not need a ticket to attend! However, you will be required to check in upon arrival so please bring your student card with you. Due to the popularity of this event, please do expect some queueing, we promise it will be worth the wait!

Accessibility Information - What can I expect from this event?

The Freshers’ Fair is a busy event with lots of stalls from companies and organisations looking to connect with students. You can expect it to be busy and loud and can expect some queuing. You can go around the fair in your own pace and there is a one way system. You can choose whether or not to interact with stalls. Some stalls will have games and activations that you can play and some will just have information. The queue and some stalls will be outside so please be prepared for the weather.

SU Groups Fair

We will be joined by over 100 Student Groups spread across the University Parade! From academic and cultural societies to special interest groups, this event is your chance to connect with like-minded peers, learn about exciting opportunities, and enrich your university experience. Whether you're passionate about media, arts, volunteering, or simply looking to expand your social circle with those who have shared interests, the fair promises something for everyone. Find your home away from home!

If you want to do a bit of research before you arrive, you can check out all our avaiilable groups in advance and plan out who you'd like to speak to - SU Groups.

Please note Sports Clubs will not be present at this event. You can meet them at the Sports Fair.

This event is an outdoor event which will take place on the Universty main Parade. The event will be busy and crowded and will have loud music playing. Student groups will have stalls showcasing their group. Students can choose how much they want to interact with the stalls. There may be opportunities to trial some group activity should you wish. There will be no food or drink available as part of this event. This event may be postponed or cancelled due to the weather.

Cardiff is the largest city in Wales and full of history, culture and exciting attractions. We'll start the morning with a walk around the medieval Cardiff castle (included in your ticket), perched above the city, surrounded by parklands, and rolling views!

Then, continue your historic visit with a short walk into the centre, where you'll find a blended atmosphere of old meets new, with plenty of places to eat, drink and shop.

Don't forget to visit the National Museum of Cardiff, Llandaff Cathedral, Alexandra Park and many more attractions. There's plenty to see and do, all within walking distance.

Important information:

The times listed on the event are from when the coach will leave the campus in the morning, until an approximate arrival back to Bath. You will be asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure, for boarding, in order to ensure the coach leaves on time. Arrival times to the destination and back to Bath are subject to traffic, weather and road conditions, which are beyond our control, so we cannot guarantee exact time/s of arrival.
The trips will go ahead regardless of weather conditions, so please do come prepared. This excludes extreme or dangerous weather, where we would, of course, cancel for your safety. In the event that we cancel the trip, you would be fully refunded.
If you can no longer attend the trip, you may transfer your ticket to another student. Please ensure you inform us in writing to su-trips@bath.ac.uk at least 24 hours before departure time. Also, quite often we have a waiting list so we may be able to put you in contact with a student waiting for a ticket.
