Join us for a relaxed, informal department mixer – the perfect chance to meet other students in your department and get to know your academic community and take part in the icebreaker activities brought to you by Academic Skills. Our very own Freshers Week captains in your department will also be there, ready to share their experience and answer all your questions!

This event is free to attend and open to all students - just turn up - you do not need a wristband to attend! However, you will be required to check in upon arrival so please bring your student card with you.

The following courses are welcome at this event:

  • Business
  • Management
  • Management with Marketing

Accessibility Information - What can I expect from this event?

The event is held in The School of Management Building (10 East). The building has level access with automated doors at the entrance. In the reception area there are turnstiles with a double opening section in the centre, all University students and staff need their library card to gain access through these turnstiles. Our captains will be at the entrance to direct you to the event space on Level 0. There is lift access and accessible toilets on every floor. If you prefer a quieter space, please use Level 1 seated area.

This is an informal event with no limit on attendees, so it may be busy and noisy. Venue capacity will be managed by our Freshers Week captains. If you’re nervous about attending alone, don’t worry – our academic representatives and Freshers Week captains will be on hand to introduce you to other students. Each student will be encouraged to wear a coloured sticker to help identify others in your course more easily.
