Who are we?

We are a friendly and inclusive group of people with a shared interest in intersectional feminism! As a D&S group within the Students' Union, we are here to support you through any gender inequality issues you may experience whilst at University.

If you'd like to have a chat about anything, please feel free to drop us a message on Facebook, send us an email, or come along to one of our meetings or events!

What do we do?

As a group, we aim to raise awareness and promote gender equality both on campus and in the wider world. We associate ourselves with movements such as feminism, transgender and non-binary recognition, and the deconstruction of gender roles. Through events, activism, socials, workshops and talks, we hope to be the most active and open Gender Equality group yet

In the past, with other university groups, we have had events such as 'What is Feminism?' and 'Black Feminism: A Panel Discussion', as well as 'Reclaim the Night' in 2017. This year, we plan to do even more, with events about the desexualisation of LGBT+ women, men's role in the feminist movement, and a charity event supporting domestic violence shelters in Bath. We encourage all members to have active participation in our society, so please don't hesitate to get in contact if you have any ideas or feedback.

How can I join?

Members of this group can be as involved as they like. Our goal is to create a safe environment where people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts - nobody will pressure you to do or say anything you don't want to. Some members may attend every meeting, some may only participate online, some may help promote or run a campaign of importance to them - it's up to you!

Membership is free, so join now! We also have a Facebook group and Twitter account that we encourage everyone to follow!

We look forward to meeting you and hearing your views!
