The Skills Centre is looking for a culturally sensitive, motivated and committed administrator to help run and develop an innovative online project targeted at enhancing the experience of our students.   

This pilot project aims at to connect international students before arrival with existing University students in order to minimise cultural shock, promote intercultural understanding and enable better integration on campus.

You will work alongside our Learning and Teaching Enhancement Advisor providing support on activities such as creating and analysing online surveys, overseeing the development of, and monitoring, online tasks using Moodle, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, organising events, producing case studies, organising and running focus groups, analysing data and providing IT support, liaising and supporting project participants with IT queries and signposting to relevant channels.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a wide range of areas, all of which will contribute significantly to your future employability. These include project management/administration, teamwork, working in a multi-cultural environment, communication and IT skills, designing and delivering online materials, data analysis, organisational skills and customer service.

You will be expected to work four hours per week on campus over a period of 22 weeks. The first two weeks will be dedicated to a full induction. Days and times to be negotiated with your Line Manager.

Essential criteria:

  • Experience in using teleconferencing tools and collaboration software tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, Google Hangouts etc
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven administrative and IT skills
  • Ability to take initiative, set and prioritise workload and work independently
  • Positive attitude
  • Proven commitment to personal development
