Our social karting events encompass three main disciplines; Team Endurance, Sprint and Open Timed sessions at local tracks such as M4 Karting and Absolutely Karting Bristol.
Our Team Endurance events are usually the first and last events of our calendar, and take the format of either a 1 hour race in teams of 2, or a 2 hour race in teams of 4. All teams are balanced based on driver experience and pace, ensuring everyone can be competitive and that the racing remains closely packed!
Sprint events take place at other major times of the year, like Christmas or Refresh Week. These events will feature a practice/qualifying session, and one or two races. If there are two races, the second one will be reverse grid, spicing up the racing and giving everyone an opportunity to battle further!
Finally, we run more casual, laid back Open Timed sessions, at a rate of roughly 1 per month, always on a weekend. These sessions are there for people who just want to enjoy going karting and have some fun, rather than the more competitive nature of our other events.
Sim Racing is a growing side of our club, as we've begun participating in the University Race Challenge Series at The Race Hut Oxford, and we're looking to continue that, along with participation in sim endurance races like the Charity Driven 24 Hours races, which in recent years has featured circuits such as Le Mans and Portimao.
Not only do we go racing, we like to watch a bit of it too! As part of our club calendar, we show rounds of the F1 World Championsip when feasible (That means no screenings of Melbourne, sorry!), and we've started screening some rounds of Formula E as well. We have also been to watch live motorsport - recently we have been to Silverstone to watch the BTCC, the MSVR Championships and World Rally Cross, and to our local track, Castle Combe, for the Autumn Classic historic racing weekend.
