We've all had to adjust during covid times, but that doesn't mean we can't still be giving back to our community.
Volunteering has always been a key part of the student experience and a way to give back to the wider Bath community. This year is going to be no different, and with Covid there is a higher demand now than ever before on charity resources to support people around the Bath area and wider afield.
Some of us are lucky enough to be in a position where we can help and we've seem members of the student community coming together to contribute to volunteering efforts. Here's how you can get involved:
The Bristol and Bath Student Volunteering Series
Alongside Bristol University, UWE Bristol and Bath Spa University, we are coming together to deliver a series of online volunteering talks to enable students to experience a variety of charities and opportunities to engage with the local community. The Q&As will take place on Microsoft Teams throughout October and November, every Tuesday 10am and Thursday 3pm from the 6th October 2020. These will take the place of in-person volunteering fairs and are a great chance to find out about any opportunities available.
You can sign up to future talks from local charities and watch previous talks here:
Volunteering with a Student Group
Whether it's by joining RAG, V Team or one of our other student-led volunteering groups, or fundraising as a student group; the chances to shape the communities we're part of are endless. This year a lot of our activity is online but V Team are still running physical opportunities.

Volunteer directly with a local charity.
As well as our incredible student groups, there are also so many opportunities to get involved with local charities on a more individual basis. This is a great chance to develop some new skills, or gain meaningful experiences. You can find their opportunities here
