Make our Campus Hedgehog Friendly!

Make our Campus Hedgehog Friendly!

SU Volunteering and The British Hedgehog Preservation Society hosted an info session for students who would like to find out more about how we can make our campus more hedgehog friendly! Don't worry if you missed it, contact Will at wl907@bath.ac.uk to get involved.

Hedgehogs have declined between 30-75% since 2000 in rural areas. City dwelling hedgehog numbers appear to be recovering after a long period of decline but there is more work to be done. Whether your campus is green or urban, you can help to bring hedgehogs back from the brink.

WHAT VOLUNTEERING IS NEEDED?
From litter picks and hedgehog surveys, campaigning, and blogging, to installing hedgehog highways there’s something for everyone. The programme supports campuses to protect hedgehogs from hazards, replace and enhance habitats and raise awareness within the community.

Through these small acts the University of Bath can gain a bronze, silver, or gold hedgehog friendly campus award. We are currently on our way to achieving Bronze.
