Language PAL Twinning Programme

Meet new people, grow in confidence, and support students practicing their English.

As part of our Language PAL offering, we are expanding our existing programme to support students at our twinned university, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (LTSNU). We are offering online English PAL sessions, once a week, led by trained PAL leaders. Like our in-person English PAL sessions, in these sessions you can come together with other students to improve confidence with English and learn about living and studying in the UK. Both University of Bath students and LTSNU students are welcome to attend.

How do I attend a PAL session?

PAL sessions will start in March and run weekly throughout Semester 2. You can sign-up to take part in an online session by filling out our session registration form. Places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Those who are registered for an upcoming session will be sent an email with the session details prior to the session.

Become a PAL Leader

What does being a PAL Leader in the Twinning Programme involve?

PAL Leaders work in teams to plan and deliver weekly study sessions for students looking to practice their English. You can use activities and resources to encourage students to practise using the language and learn about different cultures.

For the Twinning Programme, we are looking for PAL Leaders who are fluent English speakers.

How do I become a PAL Leader?

In order to become a PAL Leader, you need to complete a short application form demonstrating why you would make a great PAL Leader. We recommend reading the role description and outlining the skills and experiences you have that are relevant to the role.
