What We Do

Originating in Korea, Taekwondo is a unique martial art that literally translates to “the way of the foot and the fist”.

 

Bath University Taekwondo is a thriving club where members of all grades (from white belt up to 3rd dan black belt) and all backgrounds (be it WTF, ITF, TAGB or anything else) train together. Training sessions are made a good workout, as well as varied and fun; we practice techniques, sparring, poomsae (patterns), fitness and more. We are an energetic and friendly club, and a great way of meeting new people from all different backgrounds.

We welcome individuals of all abilities and backgrounds.

We all train together - so whether you're currently training, returning to the art, or completely new to it - everyone and anyone can join.

 

Train both your body and mind.

Taekwondo’s unique style provides great all round training for flexibility, fitness and strength, as well and building confidence and discipline.

 

Learn self defence.

Learning a martial art like Taekwondo will leave you more self-confident and able to defend yourself and others should you ever need to. It will also enhance your confidence in situations when you're travelling alone.

 

Represent the club and compete as a team. 

Competitions give you the chance to show other students in the country your skills as a martial artist, whether you are a white or black belt. It's also an opportunity to actively support your fellow team mates and meet people from other university teams. 

Come & Meet Us

You will be able to find us at Sports Day and the Sports Fair during freshers' week, come along and say 'hi!'. We will also be having taster sessions during this time, feel free to drop by and try out taekwondo.

 

Taster sessions:

Wednesday 27th September - 17:30 to 18:45
Friday 29th September - 16:00 to 17:00
Saturday 30th September - 11:30 to 13:00

Tuesday 3rd October - 21:00 to 22:00
Wednesday 4th October - 17:30 to 18:45
Friday 6th  October - 16:00 to 18:00
Saturday 7th October - 11:30 to 13:00

We recommend wearing loose clothing or general sports wear. Also, bring a water bottle in case you get thirsty.
