How is your money spent?
Ever wondered where the money made from Summer Ball tickets goes? Find out how your ticket money is broken down here.
Ticket Collection
Tickets come in the form of Wristbands and can be collected on Thursday 26 May, Friday 27 May and Monday 30 May from 11:00 – 15:00 from The Tub. Some of us will be knee deep in exams during this period, but we’ll definitely need a break at some point so do factor this in!
- You must have your library card with you for collection
- If you really can’t tear yourself away from the books or you’re sunning yourself on an early holiday, we do allow friends to collect on your behalf. All you need to do is give your friend a copy of your confirmation email as well as an email / letter stating you are giving them permission to collect on your behalf. This must include your Student ID Number and the number of wristbands being collected.
Summer Ball Sustainability
As part of our drive to make our SU events more sustainable here is the approach we have taken for the Summer Ball.
Re-usable event cups
In previous years we have had to use around 20,000 disposable plastic cups in our outside bars. This year we will hire re-usable cups which will be washed at Lime tree ready to be used again. When you buy a drink, you will be asked to pay a £1 deposit for your cup. Each time you buy a drink you can take the cup back to the bar which will be replaced for a clean one free of charge.
At the end of the night, you can return your cup to the bar and claim your £1 deposit back or leave your cup at a collection point by the exit and donate your deposit to RAG’s Big 4 charities.
Event maps
We have created a digital event map which you can access using QR codes around the event, saving loads of printing and paper. The Event Map will show you timings and locations of what is happening throughout the night.
Casino & Free drinks vouchers
This year these have been made using recycled business cards. They have not been dated specifically so they can be re used for future events.
Use of local suppliers
Where possible we have used local suppliers to keep down the carbon footprint.
