A brief introduction
Regarded as the finest choir at the University we have performed at official functions such as the 50th Anniversary and installation of Prince Edwards as Bath's Chancellor in the Bath Abbey.
This year we plan on performing outside of Bath in larger and more prestigious venues such as the Sheldonian Concert Hall in Oxford, Purcell Room at the Southbank Centre in London and St George's Hall in Bristol. In preparation for these performances, we rehearse from 7:30-9:30 PM on a Tuesday at the Edge Arts Centre.
The committee is also currently researching where to tour this Summer, whether it be around the UK, France, Italy or perhaps even further afield.
Why join this choir?
The members of the Chamber Choir come from a variety of different backgrounds and age groups meaning that everyone feels at home. We all enjoy the music we perform and relish the challenge of performing on larger stages.
When we're not singing, we're also a very sociable group with socials held at least once a month (and never clashing with any sports ones). Whether you like your finer Wine & Cheese nights or prefer to go out clubbing we cover everything and are always willing to listen to new ideas.
Programme this year
The 2018-19 programme hasn't yet been finalised, however, it will include Busking at the Bath Christmas Market, a performance at a local hospice, the University Carol Service, an Easter concert and a service to mark the Centenary of the end of World War 1 or the life of Henry Purcell.
