Do I have to audition for the Choir?

Yes - We hold an audition at the beginning of term for anyone at the University, and, should all the voices be filled, then we won't hold one again for the rest of term. We will publicise on this page and our Facebook page if we require new voices throughout the year.

Do I have to be able to read music?

It is not a prerequisite to be able to sightread, however, it will help you. We feel that a good tone is something we cannot teach, but reading music is something that you can learn over time.

Once I've paid my membership, are there other costs?

Potentially. The membership fee helps us to purchase music, hire gowns, and other important administrative tasks. When we perform, we usually have a lunch or dinner before or after the concert which we are unable to cover the costs for due to the size of the choir.

When are auditions?

Official dates for the academic year 2022-2023 will be released in September. Watch this space!
