About the Club
University of Bath Handball Club was founded in 2007 and has grown to become one of the university's leading sports clubs. We are a diverse club of men and women with members from all around the world and of a wide range of abilities.
We have two Men's teams entered into the South West Development League, the first team is our more experienced made up of people who have played the sport before whereas our second team includes players with little to no experience coming into uni. This is a great opportunity to get match time in a fun and friendly environment.
Our Women's 1st Team was founded six seasons ago and has gone from strength to strength in such a short time together. The Women's 1st Team will be competing in the South Women Regional Development League.
If you want to play competitive handball then you can. The Club will always ensure that those who want to play competitively get the opportunity to do so. If you're familiar with handball and you're playing at a high standard, you can begin to compete for places in the 1st Teams straight away.
Socials & Events
Our social events play a vital role in bringing the team closer together - it's important to get to know each other on and off the court!
Socials are arranged throughout the year by the Club's Social Secretary, Sam Bell. Our nights out are legendary and help members get to know each other better in an informal environment, whether at Score on Wednesdays, team meals or post-training ventures down into town.
It's not just what we do on the court but off the court too that makes us such a fun Club to be part of.
University Championships 2018
This season, the Club will once again be sending teams to represent the University at the prestigious ABUHC University Handball Championships throughout the year.
Every University handball club in the country takes part in the UK's annual student championships and Bath is no exception. Every member of University of Bath Handball Club is welcome to play in the tournament, no matter what their ability, and will be guaranteed court time.
The Championships in the past have taken place in Birmingham or in Sporthouse, London - the UK's Olympic handball training facility. Last year, 74 teams descended on Medway Park in Kent for an exciting weekend away. It's the perfect way to get to know who's who in the Club; the commitee sort out the accomodation and transport and, with there being no lectures, there's no excuse not to join us!
