Activities and Volunteer Managers

There's a real sense of purpose to our work. Staff are encouraged to explore the unknown and create an offer that staff and students can be proud of. You influence the long-term goals of the organisation and play a key part in building a positive student experience.

As an organisation that is focused on the development of students, we think it is important that our staff are focused on their development too. With that in mind, every member of staff in The SU has their own personal development plan, detailing the training and development opportunities that they need to fulfil the next steps of their career. Our annual appraisal process makes sure you are putting this into practice and developing yourself as well as helping us achieve our goals.

When you start work at The SU, you are joining a national network of students’ unions, giving you the ideal opportunity to develop your career in a range of different directions. You can see more about the range of opportunities at other students’ unions on the SU Careers website and can explore the huge variety of roles and career pathways within university students’ unions across the UK.

But it doesn’t stop there, working at The SU is also a fantastic route into the higher education and charity sectors. So, working with The SU means you can build a career doing a job less ordinary.
