Guidelines for running a fantastic fundraising event!

Fundraising is such a fantastic boost to your CV and RAG can support you all the way helping with publicity, event management, volunteers, and training amongst other help! Many events are run across campus throughout the year so we have built up a wealth of experience to ensure that your event runs smoothly.

If you want help, advice or simply inspiration on running your own event then email us at rag@bath.ac.uk and we are happy to point you in the right direction!

Some event ideas to get you started:

  • Jumble Sale
  • Sports tournament (e.g. 5 a side football)
  • Themed Club Night
  • Charity Massage
  • Race night
  • Poker night
  • Dive in Movie
  • Race Night
  • Charity Car Wash
  • Selling/Delivering roses on Valentine’s Day
  • Eating Contest
  • Kissing Contest (!)
  • Speed Dating
  • Sponsored Walk
  • Walk a mile (fancy dress, three legged etc!)

And many more…

It can be hard to get ideas rolling for events. We've provided some ideas above, but the best fundraising events for your group will be those tailored to your individual interests and skills! For example, Gaming Society may choose to host a charity Gaming Tournament!

To keep people safe and ensure the event runs smoothly there are guidelines which could vary depending on the size of the event you want to run. We ask that you carefully read the Fundraising Toolkit when planning your event and notify the relevant support staff in the SU of your fundraising plans.
