What does being a Student Trainer Mentor involve?

Student Trainer Mentors act as a mentor for new Student Trainers, facilitating regular debriefs and supporting Trainers to plan sessions, develop activities and resolve issues. They also work with the Peer Support Team to run training, personal development and social opportunities for Student Trainers, and help develop Skills Training across the University. Student Trainer Mentors are also encouraged to deliver their successful sessions again.

How do I become a Student Trainer Mentor?

In order to become a Student Trainer Mentor, you need to complete a short application form demonstrating why you would make a great Student Trainer Mentor. We recommend reading the role description and outlining the skills and experiences you have that are relevant to the role. You must also have previous experience as a Student Trainer – current and previous Student Trainers are both welcome to apply.

Applications are open in Semester 2 and successful applicants will be invited to training , where new Student Trainer Mentors will develop the skills and qualities they need to complete the role with support from the Peer Support Team.
