The Playground

Your on campus, free to use activity space

What is the Playground?

A new outdoor facility that all students can use, for free! This space currently has basketball and netball hoops.

Why is it so awesome?

The current covid regulations are more tolerant for outdoor exercise, so we thought why not create some more outdoor spaces to get out and enjoy the beautiful summer weather! It's just a few bits of equipment in the east overflow car park, but we think casual sport is great, and are hoping to make this a permanent space for people to enjoy past the end of the pandemic!

The playground is completely free to use, and other than a few time slots (scroll down to find out) you can just turn up and play! You don't need an SU sport membership to use the area, but if you do, you can rent balls here!

'You had me at playground.... Where is it?'

The playground is really easy to get to! It's adjacent to the athletics track, and beside the east fields. Look at the below map to see an easy route from arrivals square. You don't need to go through the STV to use this space!

The SU Basketball and Netball clubs do have some allotted times that they have sole use of the space, however outside of these times, all students can enjoy using the space, for free!
