A recent survey of UK students revealed that 71% of respondents had gambled in the last 12 months. Of these, half reported that gambling had impacted their university experience, with 13% having trouble paying for food, 10% missing lectures and tutorials, 10% saying gambling affected their assignments and grades, and 9% struggling to pay bills or for accommodation.

Ara is a registered charity that provides free information, advice and support to anyone impacted by gambling harms. If you are worried about your own gambling, the gambling of someone close to you, or just want to find out more about gambling risks including crypto, gaming, and online gambling then please come along to our monthly drop in to speak to our friendly team.

Ara will next be in the SU on Monday 13 March from 2-4. Join us for freebies, sweets and to answer our poll question – ‘what is the most popular gambling activity in the UK?’.
