Join us for a relaxed, drop-in screening.
Emergence Magazine presents Shifting Landscapes, a four-part documentary series directed by Emmy- and Peabody-nominated filmmakers Adam Loften and Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee. Through the lens of a musician, a poet, a writer, and a filmmaker, these films explore the transformative power of art and story in a time of ecological crisis. Each piece opens pathways of care and imagination, holding both catastrophe and love as our landscapes change and disappear.
Poet Jamaica Heolimeleikalani Osorio calls for a return to Aloha ʻĀina - “love for and of the land.” Through poetry and activism, she challenges tourist fantasies of Hawaii and shows what becomes possible when we live in loving relationship with the land and each other.
Schedule and Structure: Films will run back-to-back in an informal setting. There is no expectation to speak or participate - just watch and enjoy. You can arrive or leave at any time.
