"In perfect harmony...with a touch of ChaOS"
When and where?
Who are we?
ChaOS, or the Choral and Orchestral Society, is the University's largest musical society. ChaOS is made up of a variety of ensembles covering a range of genres: Big Band, Brass Band, Concert Band, Orchestra, String Ensemble, Flute Choir, Choir, Contemporary Choir, The Alley Barbers and Chamber Choir. The society provides small chamber ensembles for events around campus and in the city and we always consider ideas for new groups.
We have plenty of opportunities for soloists, pianists, drummers and small groups too including performing at our recitals.
Our emphasis is on music-making, and we welcome all students who want to get involved, whatever your experience and ability. We are a Student Society, and therefore our activities are mainly run by students, with the help of volunteer conductors.
If you happen to miss this taster session; don't worry! You are welcome to come to any rehearsal to give it a go before joining the society.
By joining ChaOS, you can join as many ensembles as you like within the ChaOS family!
