Details

Fresh and The Market are looking for hourly paid workers to join their teams for Semester 1 2025 (late September/early October start).

Are you passionate about delivering great customer service? Are you friendly, reliable, and able to work as part of a team?

Working in our stores means that you are the face of our lively campus outlets. At our Fresh and Market stores on campus we offer a wide range of choice for our customers and strive to deliver excellent customer service. We are therefore interested in hearing from students with some work experience within either retail or hospitality.

About The Roles

Casual Retail Assistant (5 positions) - you will be supporting customers with self-checkouts, replenishing stock efficiently on the shopfloor and assisting in the bakery. You’ll also be tidying the store shelves to ensure they are well presented. A variety of short shifts are available across mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends to work around your studies and other commitments.

Casual Retail Supervisor (5 positions) - you will be supporting the team and may need to close the store, ensuring the shelves are full and tidy, ready for the next morning. You will be given additional training to be able to answer customer queries on allergens, complete basic refunds and deal with any other issues as they arise. Attention to detail is an advantage as checking in deliveries against manifests is part of the role.

If applying for this role you do not need previous supervisory experience, but you will need some retail/hospitality experience. Availability to work evenings and weekends is preferred if applying for this supervisory role.

How To Apply

Interested? please email an overview of relevant experience with your CV, a date that you are available to start work from late September and include contact details to freshstore@bath.ac.uk.

It would be helpful if you could note if you are available for a right to work check in June, as if successful, this would be needed before a job offer can be finalised. Work starts after attending food safety training (which is paid). Training dates are to be confirmed.

The Home Office provides guidance on what evidence to provide if you are offered a role.

Applications close midnight Thursday 19 June.
