Ad hoc, up to 1-2 hours per day (Monday – Thursday)

Details

The position combines two key areas of support:

Computer Assistance

  • Duration: Approximately 1 hour per session

  • Frequency: Sessions usually occurring on one day each week, and may not be required every week. This depends on the staff member’s timetable and workload.

  • Scheduling: Sessions will be arranged at a mutually convenient time, with full consideration given to the support worker’s course timetable.
  • Nature of Work:
    • Operating the computer under verbal instruction
    • Tasks may include:
      • Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
      • Materials writing
      • aFLAME Disability Network administration (e.g., booking rooms)
    • The range of tasks may evolve over time

Mobility Assistance

  • Duration: Up to 60 minutes per day, split into 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon

  • Frequency: Normally required Monday to Thursday

  • Scheduling: Timings will vary and be negotiated in advance to suit both parties
  • Nature of Work:
    • Morning: Assist with wheelchair mobility from the car to the office in Wessex House
    • Afternoon: Assist from the office back to the car
