Are you looking for an hourly paid job that can be flexible around your other commitments? We have front and back of house casual hospitality positions with start dates from 9 October at our Claverton Down campus.
Casual General Assistant
(15 Roles Available)
This role will be based in the outlets on the East side of campus, in the Lime Tree, Sports Cafe and Pavilion Cafe. In this role, you will support either or both the kitchen brigade and front of house team and you r duties will include:
In the kitchen, supporting with basic food preparation, maintaining our high standards of food hygiene, and assisting with cleaning the kitchen. Responsibilities also include operating our dishwashers and pot wash areas.
In the front of house, supporting the service team setting up counters for service, serving customers, assisting the barista on the coffee machine, clearing tables and cleaning counters down after service.
Most shifts are scheduled on weekends, with some availability during the week; all shifts could be morning, daytime and evenings.
You may have a preference for one area, or have the flexibility to work in both.
Casual Cleaner

We also have a weekend casual cleaning position available in Lime Tree on the same application link (approximately 4 hours work on Saturday and Sundays mornings). In this role, you will support the hospitality team by maintaining cleanliness in the main cafeteria seating area, restrooms, and staff areas.
We require the following:
- You must be available to attend the food safety essentials training at 14:30-17:00 on Thursday 9 October
- Ideally you will be available to work on Saturday 11 October, which is the University open day.
- Flexibility to work on shifts that could be mornings from 07:00 and evenings to 21:00, weekends & weekdays
- Available for a minimum of two shifts per week (approximately 8 hours total) with a start date soon after the food safety training is completed (which takes place at 14:30 on Thursday 9 October), for at least the duration of Semester One
- As well as your skills, we're interested in you and your personality; we need real team players who are keen to learn. There may be opportunity for development and promotion.
- A positive attitude, demonstrating an ability to form effective working relationships with other team members.
- The ability to work in a safe environment and protect others around you.
- You should have a proactive attitude and be prepared to work under pressure in a fast paced, demanding environment.
In return University of Bath will offer good pay rates of £12.60 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay this equates to £14.12 per hour.
The positions are on a casual basis and hours will therefore be flexible as and when required by the business. Pay is monthly in arrears. Full training will be provided. If you are offered a role, you will need to demonstrate that you are eligible to work in the UK. The Home Office provides guidance on what evidence to provide.
