At a recent leadership committee within The SU it was agreed that some changes would be made to the role responsibilities of two of our officer positions.
From June 2021 when the new team take over the Activities Officer Role will be responsible for the strategic development of societies and volunteering groups within The SU. Volunteering currently sits within the Community Officer role.
The main reason for this proposal is because the Community Officer role lends itself more naturally to supporting the student support groups, working with University departments on policy and strategy, as well as working with the Student Community Partnership group, and so tends to be further removed from the development of the volunteer groups.
