URB win bronze at SRAs

On 7 November, URB headed to the Student Radio Awards (SRAs), where they were nominated for two categories. The nominees were the Bath Away Varsity Team for “Best Live Event or Outside Broadcast” and to Jordan Edwards interviewing Ben Howlett for “Best Interview”.  The Varsity team provided amazing live coverage of the much anticipated yearly Varsity day against Cardiff Met – keeping those of us stuck in Bath in the loop and feeling like we were right there on the pitch with them.

The Student Radio Association awards are held annually in the O2 and celebrate the top talents in university radio, supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global. Hundreds apply but only a select few make it to the shortlisted nominees after the scrutiny of nearly 200 judges and radio professionals. Being nominated for two awards was an amazing acheivement for URB and to top the night off, they won Bronze for Jordan Edwards's interview! Congrats to Jordan and the rest of the team!

Speaking about his achievement, Jordan said : “I really enjoyed being able to take the SRAs with URB for the second year in a row and was absolutely surprised and honoured to be nominated, let alone to come home with a bronze. I felt proud to be able to do so with all of my best mates with me.“
