Here are some of the amazing projects and events which took place in Semester 1 from our six Volunteering Groups:

 

RAG
Raised £3,640, through Rotary Clubs’ Firework’s night, Raised £1400 from the second hand sale in Freshers week, Raised £2812 through Bath Half, Collaborating with V Team to run Santa Dash, RAG raised £199.50. All fundraising for this year’s Big 4, Off the Record, Food Cycle, 1st Impressions, Teenage Helpline.

V Team
V Run: Bath half raised £1200 for projects, Santa dash saw 57 runners raise £399 for V Team and RAG.

V Clean: Organised 3 litter picks, working in collaboration with the SCP and new partnership with Cllr. Dr. Kumar (conservative for Bathwick).

V Nature: have participated in 4 events, Tree guarding and planting bulbs for Parks and Green Spaces Bath.

V Collect: V Collect have supported CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) by making Christmas cards and gift hampers for their service users. They are also organising trollies for food donations to Genesis around campus in collaboration with Campus Services.

V Repair: Ran a successful café with Share and Repair fixing

V Schools: Rebuilding connections with local schools to run a storytelling week in January (3 potential school contacts to follow up with).

V Heart Start: collaborating with British Heart Foundation to run awareness raising events and CPR training sessions.

V Code: Planning a coding day for 30 girls in Feb with Mighty Girls


STAR
Running a weekly Study club with Bath Welcomes Refugees, Fundraising for the University’s Sanctuary Scholarship, Working on UCAS mentoring scheme in collaboration with the Outreach department from University


Enactus
Have launched three new projects; Little Bags of Happiness, Re:Build & Prospect Education


Marrow
Have held weekly stalls, this week alone have recruited 30 people to sign up to the bone marrow donation register.


BUBT
Raising Awareness over freshers week with 2 stalls, Wear it Pink day to raise awareness with Sports Societies during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Social at Slug and Lettuce for all new members, Social at 00 raising £700 for Coppafeel, Raffle with multiple prizes offered by local businesses in Bath
