What We Do

NEW: Follow our Instagram page now for all updates and information! @uobpolsoc

To all members: Once you have paid membership, please join our official members' Facebook group where all of our events, trips, and socials will be advertised, exclusive to our members.

Bath University Politics Society is the society for any student with a keen interest in politics. The core of our membership is drawn from students on politics courses, although we're keen to expand our membership and attract more students so don’t be shy! Our aim is to promote political discussion and engagement from all students, while meeting some fun new people along the way.

Socials: We organise social events and nights out in Bath roughly every fortnight so you can get to know more people on your course easily, or just make new friends with the same interests as you!

Current plans:

- Freshers Week White T-Shirt Social (exclusive for new undergraduates)

External Speaker Events: We also host interesting speakers to give talks to engage students on a variety of topics. In the past we have organised talks with former Minister Vince Cable, former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Jacob Rees-Mogg. Please join the society if you think you would be interested in hearing these sorts of talks!

ISB Trip: This society is one of the few societies that organises trips across Europe during the inter-semester break. The society has gone to Brussels, Prague, Berlin and Budapest to name a few! This year we are hoping to go to either Croatia or Amsterdam so make sure to keep a look out for tickets going on sale! Exclusive for members only so buy your membership now!

Debating Socials:A new addition to the politics society this year, the committee hopes to organise frequent meetings in which students can come along and debate political issues in the style of the British Parliament.

Current plans:

- Freshers Week Taster Debate Session ? come and talk to us at the Societies Fair if you’re interested!
