Applications to affiliate new societies are now closed! The process will reopen again in the Winter.

 

Want to start a new society? 

Whether you're recreating home with fellow students from your culture, launching a hobby group, or just want to celebrate something you love with like-minded people, it’s time to make it official.

Affiliating with the SU is your ticket to support, resources, and recognition. And we’re here to help you every step of the way. 

You will be able to apply to start a new society by filling out this form when the process reopens this winter.

Who Can Affiliate?

Any student-led group with a clear purpose and alignment with SU values can apply. You don’t need to be huge or have everything figured out, just bring your enthusiasm, a committee of 3 and a 15 committed members. We can't affiliate societies that are similar to, or the same as, ones that already exist. Before completing your application, make sure to check out what societies we already have.

Whether you're brand new or have been running for a while, we’d love to hear from you.

 

How to Get Started

You can make sure that your society aligns with SU values by checking out the application form below. Once you have submitted your form, the Activities Executive Committee and SU staff will review it, and if you're successful we'll help you get set up for the start of the new academic year.

Please make sure to have a list of your interested members as well as the usernames and library card numbers of the committee ready for the form.

The window for the affiliation applications now closed and will reopen in the wnter. You are only able to submit an application for a new society once, so make sure you have thought through your plans before submitting!

Once submitted, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. You may not hear back from our team for several weeks but please be rest assured that we will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible. We may be in touch if we need some further details or your application is similar to another that we have already received this round.
