Please note that access to the outdoor facilities will be via the sports café outdoor terrace which is accessed by the route from the East Car Park and between the East Building and the railings overlooking the outdoor track. Here is a short video to show the temporary access routes.

SU Sport: Coronavirus (last updated 04/11)

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic 2nd lockdown, and updated guidance from Government, all physical club activity will cease at the end of today, until the lockdown restrictions are lifted. SU Sport will then assess the situation regarding getting club activity restarted again once the government outline next steps which will be around 2nd December 2020.

Please do take care of yourselves through this time. SU advice and support, the Wellbeing services, Student minds, and nightline are all available if you want to chat!

SU Sport: Coronavirus (last updated 02/11)

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Public Health England guidance, SU Sport are severely reducing all SU Sport activity effective Thursday, 5th November for 4 weeks, unless updated.

We understand that sport is a huge part of many of your lives, and encourage you to be active during this time, but in a responsible way, that minimises the spread of the virus, and is informed by local and national guidance.

Our main recommendations are that students follow the guidelines on social distancing. Those that would like to exercise, please do so locally, avoid large groups, crowded settings, and do not travel unnecessarily. Where possible, exercise alone/in small groups and in open-air settings.

We encourage you to join the Virtual on Facebook, where we will provide new pieces of information, and some fun activities to lighten the mood wherever you are!!

What does this mean for:

  • BathActive- We will endeavour to provide online materials to keep you active wherever you are during these times!
  • All fixtures- Clubs have been told to cancel any fixtures.
  • Regular SU Sport club training sessions- All club training sessions have been cancelled, but there may be opportunities to get moving as a household.
  • Using the STV/Founders hall facilities- The STV will be closing to the public over this time
  • Sports club socials- all SU socials will be moving online. The plug and tub and east village will be closed. Please refrain from meeting up in large groups.
  • Trips- All non-essential travel should be cancelled. We are working with the trip leads on this, so please do not contact the office about this unless you are a lead.

We're sad to see so much of what we've worked for go for the next month. We are proud of the work that has gone into ensuring a safe in-person offer for SU sport members to enjoy, when many other universities have been unable to do so.

Although we are waving goodbye to most of our in-person offer for a while, we knew this was a possibility and are well prepared for the next phase. Our SU virtual community is running on facebook, all our clubs are running virtual offers, ranging from socials to fitness and skills sessions! Please do give them a go! It's a great chance to meet people, and keeping active through the winter months is so important for wellbeing.

Please do take care of yourselves through this time. SU advice and support, the Wellbeing services, Student minds, and nightline are all available if you want to chat!
