Recreational Swimming

A fun and relaxed group of swimmers with complete flexibility over training times. Looking to improve your fitness or get back into swimming? This is the squad for you. You can train as often as you like at any of our 6 volunteer led sessions and also have the option to attend several friendly competitions including varsity and a trip to Germany.

Competetive Swimming

We cater for competitive swimmers as part of the rec squad offering lanes reserved for the those wishing to push themselves. Coaching is led by volunteer coaches with supervision for the performance coaching team. We attend multiple Level 3 meets as well as county competitions throughout the year

Performance Swimming

A comprehensive training programme for those targeting Nationals and Olympic qualification. The programme includes land conditioning and upwards of 20 hours pool time a week led by head coach Mark Skimming. The squad competes in BUCS, World University Games and other high-profile competitions.

To join any sports club you will need to purchase your SU Sport Membership which is £30. Each sports club (including swimming) you wish to join is then an additional £10. You can purchase your swimming membership at the top of this page. This gives you access to 6 coached rec squad sessions a week. For the performance squad there is additional coaching as well as BUCS fees. The club regularly attends competitions across the country and abroad which are subsidised by us!

Important Competitor Information

If you wish to compete in any ASA licensed competitions whilst at Uni you must be ASA registered, if you are currently registered with a club at home you must complete a dual membership form. This is no hassle and we'll help you complete this as and when it's required. You only need to purchase ASA membership if you intend to compete at a  registered meet.

Members of the performance squad will be required to purchase BUCS membership, there is no need for anyone else too unless they are asked to compete at BUCS.
