Hello everyone!
It's been a while since my last blog update so thought I'd give an update of what I've been up to! I've recently been on annual leave meaning I got plenty of time to relax at home in France too eat an excessive amount of cheese as usual.
Society Rollovers
All society rollovers have been sent to your society email boxes !! This corresponds to the budget that is left from last year and that you can spend for the year! If you do need additional funds for your activity then you can apply to the Central Budget Fund. Link is here Central Budget Fund (thesubath.com)
Society Area Membership
This year we've decided to keep the society area membership which means you'll only pay £3 for access to all societies!!
I understand that some societies due to the nature of their activity may require more funding which is why we're being flexible and allowing for societies to charge more if they needed! This is in addition of the society area membership. Hope this all makes sense to everyone but if not more information here! Societies Area Membership (thesubath.com)
Sustainability
I attended the SOS (Student Organizing for Sustainability) Bootcamp where I got to think all of things sustainability and Sus! This was really interesting and got me thinking on a lot of things which I'm really excited to bring to our brand new Green Impact Group !
This group is going to be composed of committees from 10 societies that are sustainability focused! Throughout this group we are hoping for groups with common goals to be able to collaborate, maximize their impact and have fun! This group is all about what you want to do and I think there's the potential of achieving something really great here!
Freshers Week
Your Freshers Week Event Managers have been absolute superstars!! They have been planning the biggest and the best Freshers week and with so many uncertainties and things constantly changing I think it's safe to say that the whole team has done an incredible job!
Throughout Freshers Week you'll be able to spot our societies and volunteering groups. We will be showcasing all our wonderful societies and volunteering groups on the 30th of September on campus so make sure you check that out !!
Activities Exec
I am working closely with them and we've been talking about a range of different topics from GMs to Artsity and more! I'm super excited to see what we can do this year and how we can best support committees!
We've had an exciting start to the year and I'm so excited for what's to come !
