The Bath Award is your opportunity to gain formal recognition for the skills and experience you develop through volunteering, leadership, and paid work alongside your studies. Open to all University of Bath students—undergraduate or postgraduate, on campus or remote—the award helps you showcase your employability to future employers.

To earn the award, you’ll:

  • Choose 4 key employability capabilities to focus on
  • Log 50 hours of extra-curricular activity
  • Complete professional development tasks linked to your chosen skills

Activities can include student leadership roles, volunteering, or paid work—even those you’ve already completed during your time at Bath.

The Bath Award has been a Top Ten priority for the SU Officers, and has been brought to life through collaborative work between Careers, the Students' Union, and other departments across the University. This joint effort ensures the Award is inclusive, impactful, and tailored to support your development.

Activities Officer, Sam Ellis-Hunt, explains "We’re delighted to see the Bath Award revised and relaunched for 2025! After our Top 10 work with the university last year, we’re excited to see this pilot turn into reality and we’re encouraging all students to get involved. The Bath Award is a fantastic way to highlight your contributions to all aspects of student life, build on core employability skills and demonstrate your impact and involvement to future employers.

We know just how much you give to our SU community as student leaders, so it’s great to see a programme that recognises and celebrates all that you do!"

Registration opens 22 September 2025 and closes 1 November 2025.
