S.W.A.G. 2026

South West Amalgamation of Games (SWAG) is a weekend long collaboration with multiple other societies from different universities primarily from the south west, but also ranging from places such as Oxford, where we'll host a variety of events ranging from more of our typical board games, trading card games, blood on the clocktower, to large scale events that are usually only seen once in a blue moon such as our incredibly popular megagame and wandering tavern.

What's happening?

The event will take place Saturday the 28th of February and Sunday the 1st of March. During this time, a variety of events will be always available to everyone involved, whilst some events will require sign up before hand.

Sign-up Events

Pirate Megagame (28th of Feb)

A large scale strategy boardgame and rpg combined, play in teams of 3 to lead your fleet to riches, build the strongest armada, or anything else - the objective of the game is up to you. A truly unique experience, the goal is to have fun, meet new people and enjoy the wild stories that only a megagame can create! Forms for teams will go live in the event's discord (See below), and alongside this a rules document will provided going in more detail about any specifics.

Wandering Tavern (1st of March)

A mass-play TTRPG event using DnD 5e with a twist, as players will be moving between the games of various GMs, with their replacement joining in the precise moment that they left. Each GM will be telling a chaotic and dynamic story, all situated within an overarching narrative. A GM support doc will go live prior to the event as we invite GMs both in and beyond Bath Uni to come show us your stuff. A player support doc will go live at around the same time with additional info in the event's discord (See below).

Magic the Gathering Tournaments (28th of Feb & 1st of March)

There will be an MTG pauper competition on one day and an MTG Lorwyn eclipsed draft on the other. Neither require any further entry costs, however the draft will require people to bring 3 Lorwyn draft packs to compete. Both tournaments will have prizes for the top positions, so do your best, but more importantly try to have fun! Details around which tournament will run on which day is available in the event's discord (See below)

Warhammer 40k Tournament (28th of Feb & 1st of March)

This event is continuous over both days and will last all of Saturday and most of Sunday. There will be prizes available. A player pack with rules and other bits is available on the events discord (See below).

How to get involved

All that is required, is a £3 ticket to participate in both days of the events. Upon purchase of the ticket, the receipt email will contain a Microsoft form detailing specifics about sign-ups, it is necessary this is completed if you wish to partake in any of the Sign-Up events, and it is strongly encourage so we can allocate adequate room space for all the constant events.
