Join Bath Space Society (SpaceSoc) on the Autumn Equinox for our first stargazing event of the year! There will be free hot chocolate and stunning views of Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and Andromeda galaxy! We'll start observing the night sky though our two telescopes at 19:30 on Monday 22nd Sept by The Lake on campus. Join us any time until 22:00 for a starry sky!
This event is free to attend and open to all students - just turn up - you do not need a wristband to attend! However, may be required to check in upon arrival so please bring your student card with you.
Important
Please remember to wrap up warm and bring your own mug for hot chocolate. We also recommend wearing bright clothes and taking a torch to navigate through the dark. All students are welcome! If the weather is bad, this event will be delayed. Remember to follow @bathspacesociety on Instagram and the SU Freshers Week webpage to stay in the loop!
Accessibility Information - What can I expect from this event?
This is a relaxed, low noise event which will take place outdoors by The Lake on campus. The number of attendees is not limited, so there may be a large group present however, the event will remain low noise. As this is a night-time event, lighting will be limited to preserve vision for stargazing. Limited seating may be available, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own folding chairs or picnic blankets. Committee members and Freshers week captains will be on hand to help attendees. They will be wearing high visibility jackets.
