Wander around a working farm and see (and even feed!) cute animals like pygmy goats and chickens, and meet Shetland ponies, alpacas, pigs, and sheep. Bath City Farm is a charity we are working with to give you a wholesome day out and they do incredibly valuable community work too. Don’t forget to check out the beautiful views of Bath while you’re at the farm!

Important

You will be taking the bus with our student Captains to travel to and from the Farm, so it is advisable to buy student tickets in advance. See below for further information:

Sign up will open on Monday 1 September. Your free ticket will be sent to you via email as a QR code, please make sure you bring this with you. You may also be required to check in upon arrival so please bring your student card with you.

Accessibility Information - What can I expect from this event?

This event will involve meeting with Freshers’ Week Captains and other attendees and taking the No.5 First bus service to the farm. You will have 2 hours on-site and can choose how you spend your time. You may wish to walk around the farm, visit the café or farm shop, or sit and enjoy the views. The event is expected to last 4 hours including travel time, but you may leave the farm at any point if you inform a Captain before doing so.

You and your fellow students may be split into a group by Captains at the farm (15 people max.) and can choose to split off in pairs. Members of the public may be visiting the farm. You can expect the farm to be loud as there is livestock and equipment will possibly be in use. You can choose whether to interact with the animals or not.

The farm is partially accessible by wheelchair, with restrictions in some areas. The commute will involve a short on-foot trip up and down a steep hill.

Visit the Bath City Farm website for more of what you can expect from your trip and additional guidance on wheelchair access (https://www.bathcityfarm.org.uk/)
