The Chinese New Year is the most vibrant and widely celebrated festival in Chinese culture—a time for reunion, renewal, and welcoming good fortune in the year ahead. To celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Horse, Bath CSSA, together with the School of Management and the Mahjong Society, warmly invites you to our 2026 Chinese New Year Fair: Fortune on the Way (2026 新春游园会:马上有喜市) !

We have prepared several booths for you to explore and "Give it a go": 

  • Bead Stringing: Create your own traditional-style accessories. 

  • Board Game (Mahjong): Learn the logic and fun behind this iconic social game. 

  • Chinese Calligraphy: Try your hand at writing auspicious characters with a traditional brush. 

  • Paper Cutting: Master the delicate art of creating intricate festive patterns. 

  • Printmaking on Fan: Experience the ancient Chinese printing technique. 

  • Ring Toss: Test your aim at this classic fair game. 

  • Raffle: Don't miss out on our raffle—who knows what the Year of the Horse has in store for you? 

Whether you are a cultural enthusiast or just looking for a fun afternoon with friends, there is something for everyone. Come collect your memories and perhaps a prize or two!
