To be eligible you must be graduating no earlier than May 2028 and not on placement during the academic year 2026-2027.
Opportunity Details

- Hours each week are subject to workload. However, in previous years it has worked out as approximately 8-10 hours per week in Semester 1 with fewer hours in vacation periods and towards the end of Semester 2.
- To start with hours would need to take place in-person during office hours (any time between 8am – 5pm) to allow for training and support with queries. But once fully trained and confident, hours can be flexible and working remotely will be possible.
- We would like a working pattern with the hours divided into at least two sessions per week.

A quote from our previous Admin Assistant, Matthew:
“As a PhD student who’s mostly lab-bound, finding something remote and casual was really important to me, and this role has been exactly that. I can sign in and out whenever it suits my lab schedule, which has made balancing work and research so much easier. Some days, the vacancy processing can be a bit repetitive (that’s just the nature of the task), but that’s balanced out by other bits of work and by being part of a friendly and supportive team. There is also some satisfaction in knowing that the roles I process are helping students find internships, work experience, or their first job after university. It’s rewarding in a quiet way. It’s also given me a clearer idea of the kinds of careers out there, especially for someone with my background.
I’d recommend the role to other students as it’s flexible, fitting in well around academic work, interesting by getting a sense of the job roles out there, and made even better by working with such an amazing team at the Careers Service.”
