About The Role

As a Casual General Assistant, you will support the kitchen brigade in a busy and fast-paced environment kitchen.

Your Responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining our high standards of food and kitchen hygiene
• Operating our dishwasher and potwash areas
• General kitchen cleaning
• On request, assisting with basic food preparation.
• Supporting daily kitchen operations with professionalism and care

We Require The Following

• Flexibility to work on shifts that could be mornings from 07:00 and evenings to 20:30, weekends & weekdays.
• Available for a minimum of two shifts per week with a start date in March 2026.  More availability will be needed during July, a very busy month.
• As well as your skills, we're interested in you and your personality; we need real team players who are keen to learn.
• A positive attitude, demonstrating an ability to form effective working relationships with other team members.
• The ability to work in a safe environment and protecting others around you.
• You should have a proactive attitude and be prepared to work under pressure in a fast paced, demanding environment.

In return University of Bath will offer good pay rates of £12.60 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay this equates to £14.12 per hour.

The positions are on a casual basis and hours will therefore be flexible as and when required by the business. Pay is monthly in arrears. Full training will be provided.
