As we approach the end of 2025, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on everything that’s happened so far this academic year.
Here are just some of the highlights featured in our End of Year Video!
First, we want to say a huge thank you to our incredible Student Leaders. Whether you’re part of a club committee, an Academic Rep, a Peer Mentor, or hold any other elected role, you are the heart of The SU. It was fantastic to celebrate with so many of you recently at our festive celebrations and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in Semester Two.
We started the academic year with an unforgettable Freshers’ Week and seeing everyone make new friends, create memories and establish new hobbies and passions was so special, If you haven’t seen it yet, our full impact report is available online.
Our student groups have already hosted hundreds of events, from stunning theatre productions to major national conferences. Your creativity and innovation never fail to amaze us. It’s also been a record-breaking fundraising year. Movember alone raised over £63,000, with groups cycling, running, competing, partying and more, in support of the amazing charities.
Many of you have dedicated countless hours to supporting your peers, whether that’s through academic representation, peer support or peer assisted learning, your commitment to improving the student experience at Bath is something we are truly proud of.
Our venues have been buzzing, from weekly Plug nights to SCORE presents Fishies at The Tub turning the dancefloor blue and gold. The Corner, our new café in The Edge, has already become a favourite spot for so many of you. We also enjoyed two sell-out Snowballs and Masquerade Balls, giving everyone the chance to celebrate the end of year in style. And of course, Rugby at The Rec returned with an incredible showcase of student sporting talent. There have been so many more highlights we can't mention them all!
We know the year hasn’t been without its challenges. The SU Officer Team continues to advocate for your rights and represent you on the issues that matter most. You can keep up with their work on their profile pages and the Top Ten pages, and please reach out if you’d like to know more.
Semester Two will be here before you know it and there is so much to look forward to, Officer Elections will be in full swing, Varsity is coming home and of course the end of year Summer Ball will be returning in May! For those heading into the exam period, you’ve got this, please remember that support is always available if you need it.
