The SU has been shortlisted for two awards by the National Union of Students.

The elected student officers have been shortlisted for the officer team of the year award, whilst work on a range of issues have also helped put the team in the frame for the national representation and campaign award.

The team have worked in close partnership with the University on a range of issues, and achievements as part of The SU’s top ten, the #NeverOK campaign on sexual harassment and ongoing work to represent the views of students, have helped gain national recognition for the team.

SU President Ben Davies said: “We are really pleased to have been shortlisted against tough competition from universities and colleges throughout the UK.

“The SU exists to help students get the most out of their time at the University of Bath, and we have had to play a strong role in helping represent their views and champion the causes that matter most to them this year.

“We’ve seen more and more students get involved with The SU this year, and it is vital that we keep championing their voice and supporting the student leaders who help make the student experience what it is.

“Working in close partnership with so many stakeholders across the University is absolutely vital to our success, so we’d like to thank everyone whpo has helped us throughout the year.”

The results of the awards will be announced at an evening event on Wednesday 4 July as part of the Students’ Union 2018 conference in Birmingham.

The SU has already secured a notable award  this year, having been awarded the National Winner as part of the Home Office backed Best Bar None scheme for responsible bar management.
