Twenty-three members of University Radio Bath (URB) travelled together to The O2 Arena in London to attend the Student Radio Awards 2025, an evening hosted by BBC Radio favourites Greg James and Jordan North. The black-tie event brought together major student radio stations from across the country, celebrating talent in student radio.
The Student Radio Awards are supported by Global and BBC Sounds have been held annually since 1996. It’s a night to celebrate and recognise the achievement and talent in the student radio and audio community. Judged by nearly two hundred industry-appointed judges, hundreds of student entries, spanning over a dozen categories, are whittled down to bronze, silver and gold winners.
URB enjoyed a standout night, winning Silver in the Multi-Platform Initiative category for “Rookie Politics”. The station also earned a nomination for Best Sports Programming with their coverage of the Game of Two Halves on BUCs Final Day.
Following the awards ceremony, URB were treated to live performances, rounding off a great night for members. The station members returned to Bath a little tired but motivated to achieve more next year.
